Infused with B vitamins, antioxidants and electrolytes, this low calorie, zero sugar holiday cocktail recipe is a great way to attempt hangover prevention.
I don’t know about you guys, but with all of the recent holiday bustle and stress , mama could certainly use a cocktail.
With the holiday decor decking my halls and the Christmas tunes in rotation, I have had an itch for something festive to sip on.
While my usual holiday go-to is a Poinsettia drink, I am doing my best to avoid packing on the pounds this December. Not only that, but with all of the items still looming on my to-do list, I really don’t have time to nurse a hangover (which any sugary drink is certainly sure to give me).
I started playing with items I already use as alcohol alternatives (seltzer water and Vitamin Water Zero), and came up with this low-cal, zero sugar cocktail .
Given the Vitamin Water mixer comes complete with B-Vitamins, Electrolytes and Anti-oxidants, other than utter abstinence, this may just be the most clever way to prevent a holiday hangover yet. All of that being said, obviously moderation is strongly advised (you couldn’t pound back these babies and be impervious to consequences).
Festive Low-Cal Cocktail Recipe Ingredients:
- Canada Dry Seltzer Water (I used the Mandarin Orange Flavor)
- Vitamin Water “Zero” Acai-Blueberry-Pomegranate Flavor
- Tito’s Vodka (1 ounce shot per drink…1.5 per drink if you are feeling naughty)
- Splash of Lime Juice
**Optional Garnish: Fresh Rosemary Sprigs, Fresh Cranberries and toothpicks**
How to Mix a Low-Sugar, Anti-Hangover Drink:
Crafting this concoction is quite simple, my friends.
(Step 1). Fill your glass with some ice, and pour a 1ounce shot (or 1.5 ounce..I won’t judge) into your glass.
(Step 2). Depending on whether you would like your drink more fizzy or more “anti-hangover”, will determine if you want to use more seltzer for the bulk of the drink or the Zero Vitamin Water. (I suppose you could do half and half as well).
(Step 3). Once you have poured both mixers into the glass, top with a splash of lime juice and stir all ingredients.
(Step 4). **Optional** To give the cocktail a more festive vibe, puncture fresh cranberries and rosemary sprigs with a toothpick before serving.
(Step 5). Stay calm and carry on this holiday season, my friends!
Wishing all of you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

I had never heard of using rosemary for a drink garnish until at a party last weekend. I think I may have to try it. Such a unique idea :) Merry Christmas!!
