Spring & Summer Nail Inspo: 5 Must-Try Looks for Warm Weather

With warmer days finally making their grand entrance here in the south, I find myself celebrating in the little ways—lighting tropical-scented candles, throwing open the windows to let in that fresh spring air, and, of course, swapping my short, moody nails for something that better suits a sun-kissed tan. Today, I am sharing 5 nail ideas I predict will be en vogue this year…

From old money nails to tasteful pops of color, keep on scrolling for a dose of inspiration before you head to your manicurist.

1. Milky French Nails-

While OPI’s Funny Bunny is typically one of my spring go-to’s, this year I was craving change. Albeit a subtle change, adding white french tips to my tried and true Funny Bunny base (I used 2 coats) had me feeling like a whole new woman.

Tip: While you could certainly rock the milky french nail manicure with a square shape, I have short and chubby fingers and love how the almond shape elongates them while also being very practical for everyday tasks.

2. Pearlescent French Manicure-

Besides the milky nail trend, if you are going for soft, muted tones, pearlescent manicures are going to be all the rage this wedding season. Whether you opt for a solid chrome color or prefer to top off your traditional french tips with a chrome top coat (like OPI Tin Man Chrome Powder), adding this metallic element into the mix is a fun way to shake things the f**k up.

3. The Cool-Girl Color-

If you are craving color in a cool, editorial kind of way, this golden-green metallic hue by Chanel (# 183 – RÊVEUSE) is oh so freakin’ chic. Not only does it exude spring, it reminds me of being a young girl in the nineties (ahh..such simpler times).

4. Nude Tones-

For the minimalist gals, calming neutrals with beige, taupe and peach undertones are where it’s at. And while nude nails will go with pretty much any outfit/ any season, I have specifically included this trend for warmer months as I think they are especially yummy against a nice, heathy tan, gold jewelry and white linen clothing- quintessential beach chic.

5. Butter Yellow-

When the temps rise, bright pastels take center stage. Butter yellow nails, in particular, have recently gone viral—and for good reason. They’re softer than your typical neon yet feel fresher and less overdone than your run-of-the-mill pastels.

Regardless of your personal nail color preference, I hope this post has given you permission to take a little time away from the hustle and grind and celebrate the promise of brighter days.
