DIY Christmas Tree Boho Wall Hanging

DIY Christmas Tree Boho Wall Hanging

Sharing is caring!

Today, I am sharing a super easy holiday craft idea with this DIY Christmas tree boho wall hanging tutorial…

After several failed attempts to bring you something creative this holiday season, I finally pulled off a simple DIY craft that isn’t horribly embarrassing to look at (in all honesty, I actually kind of suck at crafting) .

And while those failed projects of mine will never see the light of day ,in this post,  I am going to show you how to replicate my boho-inspired Christmas tree wall decor for under $10. Even better? The project took less than 15 minutes to complete.

I don’t know about you, but cheap and easy are how I prefer my crafts!

Before I get into the details of this fun little project, I do want to give credit where credit is due.

A few weeks ago, while scrolling through Pinterest like the “pinning” addict that I am, I was captivated by the cutest Christmas tree wall hanging.

Created and shared on the blog likeHome, the tutorial called for fresh pine. Not having access to fresh pine trees or even fresh garland as the stores are not selling it just yet, I thought I could put my own spin on this holiday DIY by using faux pine stems (I found mine at Hobby Lobby).

However, if you do  want to use fresh greenery, be sure to check out Cathy’s tutorial by clicking here.

If you want to use faux pine, I have got you covered. Here is what you will need…

easy holiday craft ideas

Christmas Tree Wall Hanging Materials:

  • 4 Faux  Pine Needle Branches (here is what I used )
  • Stick from outside or a wooden dowel rod
  • Jute
  • Miniature Christmas Ornaments
  • green-wired ornament hangers
  • Scissors

(Step 1). On a flat surface, arrange your pine stems in the shape of a Christmas tree (form a triangle).

(Step 2). Using jute, connect your triangle shape of stems to the stick or dowel. Make sure to double knot the jute tied around the stick. The nice part about these particular faux stems is that there is actually a loop you can thread your jute through.

(Step 3). Once you have connected your basic triangle of branches to the stick, you are going to need to layer in an additional branch behind the top point of your triangle. You will need to hang this last branch long enough so that it gives the illusion of a tree trunk.

(Step 4). For a little glam factor, add some bling to your Christmas tree using miniature ornaments and wire ornament hangers (use the green-colored ornament hangers so that the are easily concealed).

(Step 5). In order to hang your Christmas Tree wall decor, you will need to tie a piece of jute around each end of your stick and knot. This jute will go on top of your nail, once hammered into the wall.

(Step 6). For best results, just like the branches of a faux tree, you may need to “fluff” and adjust your pine stems.

See how simple that was?

I love how this festive wall hanging adds an organic, boho vibe to my holiday decorating scheme.

Sometimes you just gotta craft your 2020 blues and anxiety away (nevermind the fact that I am not all that crafty).

Now get out there and design some good vibes along with a fabulous life.

If you found this post helpful, support this small business with a share (it is greatly appreciated)…

Erica this is so simple and yet so elegant. It looks great in your space too. I also like the marble ornaments that were in your video, I may give those a try.

Thank you so much, Mary. Oh...those marble ornaments are so much fun to make (and this is coming from someone who isn't all that craft-inclined). Wishing you a happy turkey day in advance, my friend. xoxo

I always appreciate your posts and gift for creating something simple and beautiful. You are a bit too hard on yourself, however, that's probably why you are so good. Just a little note to say thank you for the fabulous idea.
