Simple & Easy Boho Fall Decor Ideas

Simple & Easy Boho Fall Decor Ideas

Now that labor day has passed, it is time to start gathering inspiration for fall decor. As I have lamented before, trying to find boho fall decor ideas can be quite the challenge in a world full of farmhouse fanatics.

Lucky for you, I have rounded up some simple ways to inject touches of autumnal styling into your home while also remaining true to your bohemian aesthetic.

Velvet Pumpkins

As demonstrated by my talented buddy Kathryn from Up to Date Interiors, velvet pumpkins are a great way to incorporate fall all while remaining true to one’s year-round color palette (and therefore not being confined to the typical orange or white pumpkin).Velvet is also an ideal fall textile as it evokes a since of warmth and femininity.

Global Patterns with Warm Hues

Doesn’t Cassie Bustamante have the most inviting porch? While the basis of this table styling has a strong farmhouse influence, the kilim table runner elevates the look to that of a more global, bohemian vibe and is a great way to add more autumnal texture.

Basket Art and Moss Garland

While this vignette from Up to Date Interiors consists of a predominantly cool color palette, Kathy brings in some fall spirit with this DIY moss garland and warms the space by incorporating a basket hanging.

Designing Vibes

Utilizing kilim pillow cases, rugs or throws with traditional fall colors is a simple way to add warmth and boho style to your home. Last year, I incorporated pops of orange, the one color most associated with fall,  into my decor with these kilim pillow covers. As far as textiles are concerned, you don’t get any more boho than kilim.

Taken from this year’s fall tour, below is another example of how kilim exudes a autumnal vibe quite inherently (to see my full fall tour, click here)…

Earthy Elements

Prefer more of a neutral scheme? Cassie Bustamante incorporated subtle touches of fall by bringing the outdoors inside. Think rustic, earthy elements such a ferns, wood textures and even taxidermy.

This year, I was inspired by the muted, natural tones of heirloom pumpkins as pictured above. To see more, you can click here for the separate post.

Colorful, Whimsical Pumpkins

Designing Vibes

When it comes to pumpkins, think outside of the box. There is more than one way to decorate a pumpkin, and Ariel from  PMQ for Two rocks the color and whimsy factor with her floral painted pumpkins. I also just recently shared my super simple DIY Boho pumpkins. Decorating your jack-o-lanterns with unconventional decor allows the incorporation of your everyday style and color scheme so that you aren’t just confined to traditional autumn colors.

California Casual Vibes

When it comes to bohemian decor, there is no denying the power of the  “California cool” movement. While I am completely enamored by this aesthetic in the summer months, I often find it challenging to maintain this vibe once the cooler months creep in.  Thankfully,  April from illistyle shows us how the Californians do it with this incredible Thanksgiving tablescape (which I actually featured here last year). Succulents and other neutral, earthy elements prove to be hip, chic AND festive.

Hopefully all of my fellow boho-lovers out there were able to gather a little bit of inspiration for the fall season.

Now get out there and design some good vibes and be sure to Pin….
