Can you believe fall is almost here, ya’ll? That means it is time to start thinking about fall decor. In anticipation of such a fabulous season, I wanted to go ahead and share a super easy way to give your pumpkins some whimsical, boho flair.
While I absolutely adore fall (probably my favorite season), I must admit that I often struggle with fall decor inspiration. In fact, I find it the most challenging season to decorate for due to the fact that my aesthetic is heavily influenced by West Coast vibes – boho textiles meets bright, coastal colors.
This preference is not the most conducive to fall decorating, and I often find myself wanting to migrate over to the farmhouse approach once September arrives. After all, if you search Pinterest for fall inspiration, farmhouse and traditional takes are about all you can find. Well….I am sticking to my guns this time and representing for all the boho misfits out there.
And even if you aren’t a boho freak like me, this simple DIY pumpkin decor can be integrated into your own aesthetic by the color of butterflies you select. So let me show you how I decorated my no-carve/artificial pumpkins in less than 5 minutes.
Seriously, this DIY tutorial is so freaking simple, it is kind of embarrassing.

Materials for Easy Boho Pumpkins
- white pumpkins (similar ones here)
- butterflies of your choice (here are some similar ones)
- Hot Glue Gun
- hot glue
- wire cutter
(Step 1). I started off by purchasing some faux, white pumpkins from Micheal’s (you can find some similar ones here). You can totally use real pumpkins, but unfortunately, it is still summer here and there are no real ones to be found just yet. While I often prefer the “real thing”, using artificial pumpkins do come with an advantage in the fact that you can use them year after year….just something to consider.
(Step 2). Select the color of crafting butterflies you desire. Because most crafting butterflies come with floral wire attached, you will probably need to cut off the wire with some wire cutters.
(Step 3). Attach butterfly to the center of your pumpkin with a hot glue gun. That’s it!
See….I told you these DIY pumpkins were super easy!
I love how they add just a pop of color and whimsical touch to my fall decor.
Just a note: If you ever decide you are tired of the butterflies, they are easily removable.
Now get out there and design some good vibes. Please also be sure to Pin….
PS. If you are in the path of Harvey, I want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you. Sending you my love.
