Towels are a super practical and affordable way to add a sense of luxury to your bathroom decor scheme. Today, I am sharing the best ways to display and decorate with them…
Having just completed a super scrappy makeover in my guest bathroom (just in time for holiday entertaining season), my mind has been particularly attuned to cheap yet effective decorating hacks for elevating a lackluster space of such utilitarian nature.

Aside from paint, I would actually have to say that towels (both bath towels and hand towels alike) are not only a great way to add texture, color and pattern into a small space, but they are also one of the most affordable ways to make a typically austere room feel welcoming and even luxurious.
So today, I thought I would share some creative ideas for decorating with bathroom towels..
1. Turkish Bath Towels on Wall Hooks-

In case you have been living in a cave the last five years, I am sure you have noticed that Turkish towels are all the rage in modern bathroom decor.
Not only are they one of my favorite ways to add pattern and organic texture into a bathroom that might otherwise read as stark and sterile, these towels are actually incredibly practical as they are fast drying and super forgiving of makeup stains. Thanks to retailers like Amazon and Etsy, these high-quality towels are actually also quite affordable.
Good to Know: If you are used to traditional cotton towels, Turkish towels might seem a bit on the thin side. However, this makes them great for using on the go as beach towels as they fit easily into bags and backpacks.
2. Hand Towels That are Pretty and Practical-

Thanks to the practicality of both wall mounted towel hooks and Turkish towels, the days of strictly decorative towels (ya know.. the “look but don’t use” variety) are totally a thing of the past. I know all of the disgruntled husbands out there will be rejoicing with this design revelation!
But seriously…what I love about hooks versus a traditional towel bar is that you can casually drape your textiles, instead of having to obsess over a perfectly folded edge every time you dry your damn hands. And as I mentioned earlier, a heavily patterned towel is super forgiving of stains- essential for a heavily trafficked powder room.
3. Bath Towels Displayed on a Decorative Ladder-

I love how Anita Yokota thought outside of the box- using a decorative ladder as a stylish yet functional towel display in her gorgeous primary bath. Notice how the bold, graphic print on the towels adds interest to the all white walls.
4. Elevated Towel Storage with a Hutch-

If you don’t happen to have a dedicated linen closet to store towels and wash cloths, take a note from The Lifestyled Co. and use a display hutch for stylish storage instead. I freakin’ love how this unique use of furniture gives this already incredible space such a custom feel.
5. Floating Wood Shelves for a Spa-Like Feel-

There is nothing like fresh towels- neatly folded and on display- to give your home bathroom major spa vibes. Tip: For a cohesive look, make sure to keep all of your towels uniform- using the same size, color and material.
6. Bathroom Towels as a Focal Point-

When you are working with a small bathroom, milking every bit of vertical space you have is a must. Stacking two towel bars not only allows for more towel storage, it also creates more visual impact as well. If you want to replicate this beautiful look by Huit Design Group, be very intentional with your towel selection- choosing a color palette that compliments the surrounding decor.
7. Graphic Towels for Depth-

This insanely fabulous space by Eric Olsen Design is my favorite example of just how much life towels can bring to a bathroom. Draped over a tub and displayed in an open cubby on the bathroom cabinets, the bold print of these textiles take this space to a whole new level.
8. Bath Towels in a Woven Basket-

If you want to make your guests feel special (or perhaps you just don’t want them snooping in your cluttered cabinets), make it easy for them to find what they need by displaying rolled towels in a beautiful basket. It will make every day feel like a spa day!

Whether it’s a stylish towel rack or simple wall hooks, I hope this roundup has shown you how to elevate the look and feel of your bathroom with something so practical and budget-friendly as towels.
Thank you so incredibly much for stopping by and spending some time with me.
It would make such a huge difference to this small business of mine if you could share this post with a friend or on social media..

Now get out there and design some good vibes along with a fabulous life!
