If you are looking to instantly bring some magic into your home this holiday season, a flocked tree is the way to go. To help you get into the festive spirit, today I am sharing 8 beautiful ways to style your flocked tree this Christmas…
Although I am a such a sucker for the scent of a real Christmas tree, there is something about a flocked tree that evokes such a childlike sense of wonder for me.
So when I deviated from my usual flocked tree last Christmas, opting for a fresh cut Frasier Fir instead, it felt like that awe factor I crave during such a festive time of year was lacking from my holiday decor scheme.
If you are like me and want to bring the magic back to your home this year, I have rounded up 8 beautiful ideas for decorating a flocked Christmas tree. Whether you lean modern, boho or vintage, I was sure to include something to inspire every aesthetic preference…
1. Pampas and Dried Palm Leaves-
Drawing inspiration from my year-round home decor, back at my former 1980’s ranch home, my style leaned somewhere between boho and modern organic. So when it came time to decorate my flocked Christmas tree, I incorporated dried organic stems (pampas and palm leaves) into the holiday mix. Not only did these touches fit the overall aesthetic of my home, the dried floral selections added warmth and texture to the otherwise frosty, white tree.
2. Subtle Pops of Color-
Here in the living room of my lake cottage, my aesthetic leans a little less boho and a bit more moody and masculine. Using the exact same flocked tree from my previous home (and many of the existing ornaments), I was able to slightly change the vibe of the Christmas tree by adding a few subtle pops of color with muted-toned ornaments (think browns, plums and rose gold).
3. Minimal and Modern –
If your everyday aesthetic is both modern and minimal, take a note from The Hillary Style and leave your flocked tree bare. With a room this gorgeous, who needs any ornaments? Let the lights and the gorgeous flocking shine on their own!
4. Velvet Ornaments-
I have been a fan of the velvet ornament resurgence for the past few years, but this gorgeous tree by Iris Nacole just takes it to a whole new level. With a multitude of tonal variations, this flocked tree is both playful and refined. Notice just how stunningly these soft colors pop against the white of the tree.
5. Layers of Elegance-
From the ribbons to the garland to the ornaments, this beautiful flocked tree from Studio McGee exudes opulent sophistication. To replicate this look for yourself, be sure to work with various shaped ornaments while also adhering to a highly edited color palette (think subdued tones of white, silver, brown and gold).
6. Vintage Charm-
While flocked trees have become notably popular in the Pinterest/social media era, they have actually been around since the 1950’s. So if you are an old soul craving a Christmas from that of simpler times, feel free to incorporate nostalgic ornaments onto your tree like House of Jade Home did here with this precious vintage tree.
While the ribbon and many of the antique baubles are part of matching sets, adding a few mismatched ornaments won’t disrupt the overall cohesion of the tree decor, and can actually enhance its character.
7. Neutral Christmas Tree Decor-
If you are going with a neutral color palette as far as your ornaments are concerned, be sure to add some depth and coziness to your tree by means of texture. This gorgeous flocked tree by Marly Dice is a great example of how to trim the tree without the end result falling completely flat. Notice how she incorporates textures (beyond shiny metallics) with a burlap tree topper, cable knit tree skirt and beaded garland.
8. Gold Tree Collar-
While it is easy to get lost in the details of your Christmas tree ornaments, don’t overlook the importance of your tree collar! While this flocked tree by 1111 Light Lane is already beautifully styled, what really takes it all to the next level is the fabulous, gold collar. No need for a topper or garland when you have a stand as stunning as this one!
As you can see, gold metallics and flocked trees go together like peanut butter and jelly.
