In the almost four weeks now that I have been hunkered down at home, it’s safe to say that I have experienced the entire spectrum of grief.
Grieving the loss of a lifestyle I assumed would always be my norm, last week I allowed myself a mental health break- stepping entirely away from the news, the blog and my social media account.
Now that I am back and have had a little time for introspection, I have made a promise to myself…
As best as I can, I am vowing to only focus on the things I can control.
In addition to self care rituals and tending to the needs of my children, I will also continue to maintain a beautiful, calming environment for myself and my family.
In today’s DIY post, I am sharing how to transform as something as mundane as a shampoo or soap bottle, into an elevated daily experience.

Not only does the uniformity of the bottles allow your shower to look more organized and streamlined, the amber glass bottles provide your bathroom with a major dose of farmhouse meets zen spa vibes. Even better? All of the required items can be purchased from Amazon Prime.
How to Make Your own Glass Shampoo Labels:
Here is a list of all of the items I used to make these shampoo and soap bottles with personalized labels.
- Amber Glass Bottles (you can get them here)
- Label Maker (get it here)
- Label Tape that will withstand water exposure (get it here)
While I am sure you can probably find free printable labels out on Pinterest, I do not have a printer at home. As a more space-friendly solution, I decided to purchase a a hand-held label maker.
I simply typed out my personalized labels, cut them and placed them on the glass pump bottles. While I was not sure how durable the labels would be with constant water exposure, I have used these bottles for five months now and the labels have held up perfectly fine.
It is funny just how something as simple as a soap or shampoo bottle can truly upgrade your daily routine, but the bottles truly do add to the spa experience in my bathroom. I also love how the matching bottles make everything look so cohesive.
I hope you guys are still maintaining your sanity as best as you can. I must say, taking a break from all of the fear-based stimuli has really helped me keep it together for my baby boys.
Thank you so much for your continued support. Sending you all virtual hugs and kisses.

i have looked at these bottles for awhile and wanted to try them but to be honest, I am afraid to have glass bottles in the shower or tub. I know how often members of my family drop things when their hands are slippery or soapy. Have you had any problems with dropping.

I have not had any problems with the glass, but I only have the bottles in my master bath shower (where no kids are allowed). Given they sit in the recessed caddy, I don't even pick the bottles up. I can simply pump them in their place. Hope this helps!

I am going to do this!!!!!! I never thought to do something like this but what a different it will make. I am so glad you are feeling better. This situation we are in is crazy difficult and I also find limiting what information I choose to take in to be the best fo me. I was getting a little cray cray with the fear. This too shall pass. Take care and keep on making beautiful things my friend:)
