Affordable Modern Upholstered Dining Chairs for Under $150

If you are on the hunt for affordable yet ultra-stylish dining room decor, your girl as got you covered. Today, I have personally curated the best modern dining chairs- all for under $150 (and most of my selections are even cheaper than that)…

Without a doubt, my interior design preferences are constantly evolving.

And because I love to experiment with new trends, I tend to cycle thru furniture and decor a bit faster than the average consumer.

Actually, it’s with this self-awareness , that I tend to veer away from high-investment pieces, because it just feels like waaay too much of a commitment.

So when it came time to furnish my midcentury modern dining room, with budget in mind, I decided to allocate the majority of my dollars to a handmade feasting table which had been custom-built to the space’s unique dimensions.

Spending most of my money on the table itself, I was forced to be a total cheap a$$ when it came to sourcing 8 dining chairs for it.

Of course I had to go and make my shopping efforts even more challenging when I fell in love with the recent “aesthetic home” design trend (think lots of earthy elements mixed with luxe upholstery- all executed with a neutral, minimalist touch).

Given there were already so many rustic elements at play in my dining room, my dining chairs were one of my only opportunities to inject the “luxe upholstery” component into the mix. And so…fabric chairs it had to be- despite the fact that upholstery and budget don’t exactly go hand in hand.

Now…. if I were strictly following the “aesthetic home” trend and I didn’t have to worry about my accident-prone slobs (I mean children), beige, boucle chairs would have been my first choice (I actually included some for you below).

But trying to be somewhat practical, I decided to go with these grey upholstered chairs from Home Depot.

For less than $80 a chair on their website, I was a bit skeptical about what the quality would be like when they arrived (especially because there were no customer reviews at the time).

But after a good seven months of use, I can honesty say that these chairs were a freakin’ steal. Not only do they look nice, they are super supportive/comfortable, durable and forgiving of dirt (not to mention the occasional spray tan).

If you need something other than the light grey color I chose, lucky for you, the chairs come in a variety of color options.
