How To Install Marble Facade Peel and Stick Tiles

In my budget-friendly kitchen makeover, I used peel and stick backsplash with a real marble facade for under $130.  Today I am sharing a step-by-step tutorial on installing the tiles along with a few hacks…

Here in my kitchen,  knowing I want to eventually replace my laminate counters, I reasoned that peel and stick backsplash was the best temporary option  for my budget (until I can afford to replace the counters).

Be sure your surface is level enough to install the tiles.  Sand, patch or prime area if needed.

Step 1

If outlets are installed, turn the breaker off that services the outlets. Remove outlet covers and unscrew outlets from the electrical boxes.

Step 2

Once you've determined the type of layout desired (I used the standard brick layout), you can peel the backing off your tile carefully and apply your first row of tiles to the wall. We worked left from right.

Step 3

If the end pieces need to be cut, you can use a square and pencil to mark your cutting point.

Step 4

For more complicated cuts, my husband devised a clever hack. To make these tricky cuts, he used a Dremel rotary tool with a diamond wheel.  Wear safety glasses!
