how to: install hardwood planks

directly over old tile or wood flooring

Wanna see how I transformed my outdated, 1980's flooring without having to demo it?

Before:

I installed these floating engineered hardwood planks directly over my old tile and wood floors!

After:

Tools Needed:

– Rubber Mallet – Tapping block  – Oscillating saw – Jigsaw – Miter saw – 1/4” spacer blocks

Materials Needed:

– Floorté Waterproof Hardwood.Planks – Quarter Round (to account for required expansion spacing gap which baseboard may not evenly cover)

Lay first plank in a corner making sure it is positioned against 1/4” spacer blocks.

step 1

Attach second plank to butt end of first plank by overlapping exposed locking edge of first plank with the second plank edge.

step 2

Gently tap butt seam with a mallet to lock the planks together.
