No Sew Ikea Ritva Curtain Hack

No Sew Ikea Ritva Curtain Hack

Brace yourselves for this Ikea Curtain Hack tutorial. It’s quite intimidating. It requires a hot glue gun, grey grosgrain ribbon and a pair of Ikea Ritva Curtains. See the attempt at sarcastic humor? This is actually one of the easiest diy projects ever.

I ordered 2 pairs (1 pair for each window) of white, Ikea Ritva curtains online.

I wanted to spruce them up a bit and make them pop. Inspired from some of the curtains at Ballard’s Designs and Pottery Barn, I thought the grosgrain ribbon would create a similar effect with  half the investment.

At $179 per panel, Pottery Barn’s bordered drape will set your wallet back. My version costs only $50 per pair.

I didnt even bother to take down my curtains. I hot glued the grosgrain ribbon directly to the border of the Ikea Ritva curtains then cut the excess ribbon off with my scissors. That was it! No sewing! No measuring! Just hot glue-ing!

Materials Needed

  • pair of Ikea Ritva Curtains (or 1 pair per window)
  • Grosgrain ribbon in the color of your choice (I went with dark grey to match my other decor)
  • Hot glue sticks
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

See guys? This is embarrassingly easy. Now get to work and design some good vibes!
