Cheap and Easy Galentine’s Day Gift

Cheap and Easy Galentine’s Day Gift

Sharing is caring!

Although I think Valentine’s Day is completely overrated, I wanted to share a super easy and affordable way to cheer up your single ladies with this DIY boho choker necklace. And if you are a single lady yourself, instead of celebrating V-Day in its traditional sense, gather your girlfriends and celebrate “Galentine’s Day”. No man required!

Ten years ago, on Valentine’s Day, I was actually stood-up by my now husband. We were only casually dating at the time, but he neglected to call or invite me on that totally overrated, V-Day date.

And while I was pretty bummed, one of my best gal pals brought me over flowers and a V-day gift. As simple of a gesture as it was, it truly meant the world to me and turned my frown upside down. So, if you have a friend in mind but are a little strapped for cash, this DIY jewelry is the way to go.

For your convenience, I have included some affiliate links. That simply means if you click on one of the links and buy something, I receive a small commission, but don’t worry… you won’t pay a dime more.*

Materials:

  •  Charm (I bought mine at Hobby Lobby on sale for $2)
  • 3 MM Sude Leather Lace (also purchased from Hobby Lobby for $2 or you can also buy here )
  • Scissors

This necklace is really so simple, it is embarrassing.

Simply cut the leather lace to desired length and thread the charm through. Voila! A cheap yet thoughtful and unique gift.

If you are feeling extra fancy, gift the jewelry in a beautiful box or bag and present with a bouquet of roses (I purchased my roses at the grocery store for $9 and the vase for $1 at a thrift shop).

Of course booze is always a welcomed gift for a lady battling the misery of V-day,  but I thought this seemed a little more thoughtful.

And for all of my single ladies, just remember Valentine’s Day is just a marketing ploy.

And who knows….the jerk that stood you up may just be the man you marry.  At least,  it was the case for me. And no, my husband is far from a jerk (long story short, our disastrous, first Valentines was just a matter of horrible communication.)

Now get out there and spread some good vibes.

Happy V-Day B!tches!
