April Soul Hack: Finding Peace in Our Current Reality

April Soul Hack: Finding Peace in Our Current Reality

Sharing is caring!

I am not gonna lie, my friends. As much as I am a homebody and introvert, these times have tested my sanity and evoked some of my old depressive tendencies.

After a particularly bad week, one where I completely neglected my spiritual practices and vegged out on television and self-pity, I vowed to pick myself up by the bootstraps yet once again.

I recommitted to my meditation practice, and after a few days, began to get my hope back.

For this month’s “Soul Hack” ,  I am sharing a message that came to me after I prayed and meditated – particularly in search of higher wisdom and optimism as it relates to this unprecedented era of isolation. After these words frantically poured out onto my journal, I read them and felt some inner peace and relief. I am hoping this perspective does the same for you.

So here it goes…..

Forget what the media, experts or loved ones are postulating about the nature of your current reality.

What are you actually experiencing in this present moment..in this millisecond?

Is the sun shining? Is your body nourished? Can you still find something to be grateful for- even if it is only a roof over your head or fresh air to breathe? You see…this is your present reality.

Not anxiety about what is to come or the lamenting of what has been lost. In relation to the present moment, such emotional states are only deviations from the truth of this very second in time.

If you are reading this message, chances are…your life is still probably better than most of the world’s population.

You have access to technology, clean water and even the luxury to partake in a hobby- for nothing but pleasure’s sake.

So when you begin to feel hopeless or anxious because of something you’ve seen on the news or heard from a friend…

Remember that each new waking moment is a chance to choose your personal reality again….to reclaim your joy and power…to see your experience from a higher perspective.

From moment to moment, you can commit to shifting your focus.

You can choose to focus on what is going wrong or you can choose to focus on what is going right.

You can relish in the peace and perfection of your “now” moment at any time.

And while  the current situation is  most certainly destabilizing and fear provoking, resisting the present “what is” only creates unnecessary stress.

I know it is easier said than done, but dig deep and ask yourself …How can I evolve with grace thru these crazy times?

Instead of wasting precious life force resisting what is, we must choose to adapt- to go with the flow.

In the words of Bob Dylan, “times they are a changing”.  And this is simply the nature of life.

Change is the one constant, and fluidity is the only way to gracefully navigate it.

Navigate these crazy times moment by moment…day by day.

I really like this new series. We all have difficulties, strengths, weaknesses, and yet sometimes we think we are the only ones. Thanks for sharing this message that I think we could all use. Life is good even when we sometimes can't see it:) Take care!!!!

All this is very true Erica, and the fact that we have time for hobbies, where before we were scrambling to get things done. It is a blessing indeed. Stay safe friend!

Amen, just remember how many times we have all wished we had time to be home and to do some of the projects we wanted to do, or read that book we have wanted to read. When we have to work all the time, we always want more time at home, isn't that funny how that works.
